In the Settings page, make sure that the screen width, screen height and interpupillary distance (IPD) values are correct. IPD is the distance measured in centimetres between the centers of the pupils of your eyes. Use a ruler to measure your IPD and put it in the Settings page for the best viewing experience.

Yes, you can use Side-by-Side mode when using a 3D monitor. To changing render mode, you can press ESC for open general settings, go to shader tab and select Side by side option in render mode dropdown. See more about Display Guide
